What Is Energy Healing
What is Energy Healing?
Energy healing, as practiced by the Kansas City Healing Project, is a form of hands-on healing that is based on the principle that each of us has a subtle energy field around and within us that is the framework or blueprint for the physical body.
When there is a blockage or distortion in the energy field, the physical body may show signs of those blockages by becoming diseased or not healing by itself, as in the case of a cancer.
The blockages or distortions may be caused by events the person has had or been exposed to. These events can be physical ( i.e. a broken bone or exposure to an environmental agent) or emotional.
The energy healer’s function is to assist the client in his/her healing process by partnering with the client to clear the blockages or distortions out of the energy field. The client is then able to do the healing he/she would have done naturally if the blockages or distortions had not been there.
What may I expect during an Energy Healing Session?
You and the healer talk about why you are there, what to expect and answer any questions or concerns you may have. During the actual treatment, the client lies, fully clothed, on a massage table, normally on their back and just relaxes.
The healer first balances the client's energy field and helps remove or smooth out the blocks or distortions with their hands. It is not unusual for the client to fall asleep during the session. The sessions normally last 45 to 60 minutes.
Because a client may need multiple sessions to see improvement, we ask that a client be willing to commit to having at least 3 sessions with us.
What can Energy Healing do for a cancer patient?
Studies have shown that energy healing may reduce the pain caused by the disease as well as the pain and side effects of the treatments for the disease. Energy healing has also been shown to reduce anxiety and promote a sense of well-being.
Our healers are trained to provide a safe and caring environment to assist you in your journey and healing. This may involve helping you transition through and release emotions as well as assisting you in finding a greater sense of peace of mind and well-being.
Who are the Energy Healers with the Kansas City Healing Project?
Because there may be different healers working with any one client, for consistency, all the healers are graduates of the CoreStar Energy Healing Program, based in Mission, KS. The CoreStar Program is a 3-year certification program designed to teach healing techniques, perceiving energy and the art of being a healer. www.corestarenergyhealing.com

No, it does not replace your current medical team!
We see this work as supporting an integrative approach to your care. This is a way to support the work on your body you are doing with your doctors and other health professionals with care for the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of your being. We would encourage you to discuss this healing work with your health professionals and we would be happy to discuss what we are doing with them if there are any questions or concerns. We will not tell you to change anything that you are doing with these other health professionals.
